Country Oaks

Country Oaks

In early 2010, pastor Jon Daniels noticed a small mobile home community off of Highway 18.  He pulled in and found a lady sitting outside of her home.  She told him that there were several families with children living there and that the children needed something positive to be involved in.  He also noticed that the mobile homes were older and many were in need of repair. That day, God put a desire in Jon’s heart for Country Woods to minister to the residents of this community.  Jon later shared this new ministry opportunity with Chris Ayers.  During the next semester of FAITH, Chris and his team were able to start reaching out to this community.  Soon it became obvious that we were supposed share Jesus and be Jesus to these people.  In January of 2011, we had our first service.  Twelve residents attended that first Sunday.  Nearly every Sunday afternoon for the last seven years, we have held services at that little church.

We have come in contact with close to 200 people during that time.  So many precious children have come and gone through the doors of that church.  For many it is the most stable and secure place that they know.  Most of the original residents have moved.  An average of 15 meets there each Sunday. An estimated 25 people have given their life to Christ through the ministry of Country Oaks and two have been baptized.   Numerous CWBC members have been a part of the ministry through teaching, leading worship or just being Jesus by loving on the people.  We serve an annual Thanksgiving meal as well as host a Christmas party for the residents.  Throughout the year we have community cookouts as well as VBS for the children.  From time to time we meet physical needs with food and clothing or school supplies for the children.
