1Walter is a life long resident of Mississippi. He grew up in North Jackson, graduated from Jackson Prep in 1981, and received a degree in Business Management from Mississippi State University. Walt managed Moses Electric, a company started by his grandfather, until his mother sold the company. After the sale, he went to work with Chris Haynes Electric Supply and has been there ever since.
Walter and Nancy were recently married. He has a son, Michael (married to Shelbie) and a daughter, Kayla. He has been a grandfather (aka Pawpaw) for 1 year now and it has been his pleasure to watch this little one grow up. He will soon be joined in holy matrimony to Nancy. Nancy has a daughter (Meredith), son (Jacob), and 3 grand children.
Walter has been attending Country Woods since 2011 and leading the Coffee Bar life group since 2015. He is on the security team, nominating committee, helps lead the Men of the Woods men’s ministry, serves at Mission Byram, and can often be seen in character during our summer VBS programs.
When he is not serving others or at work, he is spending time in the great outdoors. He loves, hunting, fishing, riding the tractor and 4 wheeler, and picking blackberries. He enjoys cooking because he enjoys eating!
